A sigh escaped the soft lips of Chikara Sierra as she strolled casually down the streets of Hoshi, her pure-black eyes half-lidded and her hands jammed into the pockets of her baggy gray cargos. She had skipped practice again today on the simple reasoning that she simply didn't feel like dealing with it; the previous night had been worse than it usualy tended to be. She was accustomed to nightmares; horrible ones at that. It came with her ability.
Still, when a particularly nasty one came along, it left her feeling depressed. The vision she had had was heartwrenching... a man and a woman were in love, and all was well until the day he was called out to war (for this vision took place far away; they dressed nothing like the ninjas of Hoshi and everything was strange in the vision). He went to war with the regards of his family and his lover, and he returned in a coffin. The woman wept and wept until she finally could stand it no longer and jumped off of a bridge, killing herself.
It was saddening, this vision, and though it likely had not happened yet, it would. She knew; these things always would happen, exactly as she saw them. She had seen the details, as well; the man had died rather painfully. He had been captured, tortured for information, and killed when it became apparent that he knew nothing. She had seen it when he had been shot; the final wound that sealed his fate. Sierra also saw as the woman jumped off of the bridge; her neck broke upon contact with the water below, and many other injuries came as well... it was a gruesome sight. Other visions came to the Chikara that night, but none as striking to her as that one.
As such, she had decided to get some fresh air and perhaps retrive some "survival supplies" (a.k.a., some new video games and an ice cream cone). She massaged her temples, sighing. She was tired. Sick and tired of these visions taking sleep from her and tired of messing with her head and giving her these horrible pictures. She bit her lip as the picture of the dead, bloodied body that was once the soldier man came to her eyes, then was gone. She tried to take her mind off of it and shook her head, some orange strands falling into her face. She brushed them behind an ear, and then sighed again.
So much that this poor girl had to deal with, but few felt sorry for her. Few new that she endured so much; her family had already folded to the pressure and stress, and she was stronger than they by the means that she was still at least semi-sane. Everyone figured she was just violent or pessimistic by nature when she snapped at them, and that she was just a mean person since it seemed she always was in a foul mood. Not the case; perhaps if she had been born as a member of a different clan, and not to the Chikaras, she would be kinder, less grumpy.
Fate truly was a cruel thing.
She turned to glance back at her house, which she was leaving behind. 'Maybe I should just go back to bed....' She then abandoned the thought. That would lead to more nightmares. Sleep was rarely an option. Video games; that would be good, yes. Those would keep her mind off of these visions. And so she continued on, her eyes half-lidded and a yawn escaping her lips. She was Chikara Sierra. Her clan name was her curse.

He walked around casually, one hand in his pocket, the other next to his side, holding something. He was looking for her again. Surprisingly. he didn't find her that scary, or bad tempered. He found her foul mouth and even worse mood to be cute, and sometimes, hysterically funny. He wore shorts, and a tank-top, the shirt loosely hanging from his shoulders. It was white with "O rly?" On the front, and "Yah rly!" On the back. His shorts came to about his knees, and were black. Today, he was wearing his barrage of earrings, and his special belly-ring. After a moment of searching, he spotted her.
He strolled up to her, smiling in his usual way. Coming up behind her quietly, he put an arm on her shoulder. "'Allo Sierra!" In his other hand, he held a small tub of ice cream, to bribe her out of beating the crap out of him. Looking at her, he noticed that she didn't look so great. His eyes became concerned all-of-a-sudden. "Hey... are you al'ight?"
<<ugh sucky post... roll with me, I feel like crap...>>

Sierra glanced tiredly up at Foxy, nodding slowly. She forced a tiny smile in an attempt not to worry him; if anything, it would only make the worry worse.
"I'm... I'm alright."
Her voice was hoarse and cracked a bit, and she rubbed her temples again, the gray, crescent-moons tattooed beneath her eyes making her look even more tired. Her black eyes were dull, without the usual spark they held. She gently, weakly took the ice cream, feeling a little bit better. Well, this would help a bit.
"Thank you, Foxy. I was going to go and grab the next Fruits Basket and maybe another video game, then head back home... You can come, if you'd like."
She felt too tired, too weak to fight and tell him to leave, or anything of the like. She didn't feel like acting today. She brushed some hair out of her eyes, and continued to walk, dragging her feet lightly as if they were weighted down. She was going to get herself sick stressing her body like this, with lack of sleep and the constant plague of nightmares and visions. She gave a strangled sort of cough, then shook her head, shaking her shoulders a bit in an attempt to rid herself of the incoming illness. The cold feeling of the tub of ice cream made her shiver, but it calmed her slightly; she had a light-headed feeling, and suddenly, everything spun.
Damn this stupid clan...
She fell, coughing. Days of little sleep and mental stress were taking effect, now. She clutched her chest, towards her throat, coughing harder, attempting to swallow but failing.

He looked down at her, worry in his bright eyes. 'Yeah, and my Uncle Jeremy (who can turn into a pig) can fly to the sun and back.' He didn't say this out loud, of coarse. Usually she would've said something like "Piss off Foxy." But not today. She looked horrible. "Sierra..." He put a hand on her shoulder, replacing his forearm. He could smell the fatigue like it was coming off of her in waves. He also smelled fear, and sickness.
"Sierra, you're making yourself sick. Don-- Sierra!" He knelt down beside her, eyes wide with panic. He didn't know what to do. Mind racing, he picked her up, bridal style, and started to walk, panic over-riding his mind. 'W-where should I go?! Maybe to Kimiko? Nonono. R-rinoku! Yes, he'll know what to do!' He started to trot to the younger ninja's home, hoping to find him there, and not his mother.

Sierra hacked and coughed, gasping for breath a little bit. She slowly put a shaky hand to her mouth, and then, after a moment, stopped coughing. She slowly slipped into unconsciousness, her face pale and her arms and legs limp.

Under any other circumstances, Foxy would've taken advantage of the position she was in, but not now. He tightened his grip around her, eyes widening. "N-no! Sierra, don't fall asleep!" He pace quickened, until he was in a dead run. He had to get to Rinoku. For all he was older, he acted maybe twelve years less mature.
In moments, he ws at his friend's door, kicking it. "Hey! RINNY!" He looked down at Sierra, and shook her gently. "No Sierra. Y-you can't fall asleep right now." He almost kicked the door down, yelling louder. "YO TAMASHI RINOKU! GIT YO ASS DOWN HERE!"

Rinoku had, thankfully, decided to break up practice early that day; the other two girls seemed not to be quite into it, and for whatever the reason he wasn't really feeling up to it himself. He was sitting at his couch, his casual clothes on, which consisted of a loose, baggy gray T-shirt, black shorts, black socks, and a lack of a headband, which left his eyes revealed. At the shouts, his keen ears twitched lightly and he glanced over at the door, curious. Foxy rarely sounded that urgent.
"Is anything wrong?"
He got to his feet, stretching for a short second before strolling gracefully over to the door. His movements were usually fluid and quiet; it generally came with being a skilled ninja. He opened the door, and insantly, he saw the auras of Kitsue and Sierra; he didn't like what he saw. Especially since Sierra had fainted.
"Oh my...!"
He gasped, and immediately headed straight for his room; if his mother came home to find an unconscious girl laying on the couch in the living room, she'd have a fit. Rinoku swung open the door and pointed at the bed.
"Lay her down. Does she have a fever?"

"Finally." He brought her in, following his friend to the bedroom. Gently, he lay her small frame down, making sure she would be comfortable when she woke. He stood up straight, shaking his head. "I dunno man. She just looked really out-of-it, then she started hacking, like my grandma Jo when she has a furball." His voice was shaking, as was the rest of him.
"Dude, is she gonna be okay?" He looked down at Rinoku, hope, worry, and fear mixed in his face. His stomach felt like it was going through a blender. He held his hands together, cracking his knuckles.[/tt]

"I... I don't know."
He ran a hand through his maroon-brown hair, looking worried. His blind eyes stared with concern at his unconscious student.
"I hope so. Her aura... it's very sickly. Do you think maybe something's wrong..?"
The 16-year-old jounin glanced at Foxy with a pondering glance. Foxy had been talking to her before she fainted, he figured, so...
"Did she say anything to you?"
That would make sense. Maybe she dropped a hint about why she felt sick; maybe she just had a cold. He walked forward, gently placing a hand on his student's forehead and feeling her temperature.
"..She's warm. She's definately sick."
He bit his lip. He cared for his students, he truly did; even Sierra, who was as violent and mean to him as anyone. Seeing her form laying here now, frail and sick, he couldn't see her as anything but a defenseless little girl. He headed for the door to his room.
"I'm.. going to go get something for her to drink when she wakes up. And a warm washcloth; that might help."
And with that, he walked down the stairs, swift and quiet as ever.

He shook his head, trying to remember anything. "N-no. She said that she was gonna get some icecream and a new video game." His brow furrowed, the look not suiting his usually smiling face. He knawed on his lip for a moment, before something came to him. He decided he would find out for himself, doubting that the younger teen would know.
He nodded, watching Rinoku go. He hadn't needed Rinoku's help with seeing that she was sick, he could smell it well enough. He ran his hands through his hair over and over, creating more of a mess than he had started with that morning. "Why didn't you ay something you silly stubborn headed girl?" His voice was quiet, and wavering. He pulled a chair up to the bed, and sat, staring at her face. Reaching up a hand, he brushed some of her orange hair out of her eyes. "I could've helped." No, he knew that he really couldn't've, but, it wouldn't've hurt to tell him, Right?

Her hand twitched a bit in her sleep, and she coughed a bit, but then quieted down quickly. Her eyebrows were tilted, giving her a sad, weak look. Her skin was pale, and the gray crescents beneath her eyes made her look even more sickly. Her shoulder-length creamy orange hair was spread out behind her, and she slowly turned on her side, facing Foxy, with her hands creeping up and moving to her mouth, where she left them. Her breathing sounded raspy.

He held his breath as he watched her. He moved his hand, only to gently hold one of her small hands. He didn't like how those tattoos looked on her, but they seemed to be a part of her as well. he sighed, rubbing her skin softly. "Stubborn girl."[/tt]

Rinoku slowly came back into the room, his blind eyes worried. He held a glass of water in one hand and a lightly dampened washcloth, nice and warm from being soaked under hot water. He glanced at the two, one unconscious girl and one concerned teenage boy, and sighed.
"Here. Put this on her forehead and sit the glass of water on the nightstand."
He turned back to leave the room again, understanding that perhaps he should give them some privacy.

He took the water, putting it on the nightstand, and then placed the washcloth on her head gently. His hands shook with worry, and he watched his friend go. "Thanks Rinoku." He rarely used the jounin's full name, liking his nickname for him better. He then took Sierra's hand again, kissing it lightly. "C'mon kid." He didn't think that she would really die, but that didn't stop him from worrying. She looked vulnerable, lying there. For a few moments, he actually thought he might see her open her eyes again.
He shook his head, clearing his brain of all such thoughts. His bangs tumbled into his eyes, but he did nothing about them. It's not like they were actually going out. It was pretty much, him 'stalking' her. But still, he had hope.

Then, she opened her eyes.
"Nnnnn...."
Her voice cracked a bit and was rather raspy, but she was at least half-conscious, now. Her dark, usually-glimmering black eyes glanced up slowly at Foxy, and she blinked. Her skin was still pale and she still looked sickly and weak, but she was awake, which meant that she wasn't going to die. Yet, at least.
"Where.... am I...?"
She glanced around slowly, her neck making a sort of crack noise once or twice as she did so for she was rather stiff, but couldn't recognize where she was. She would have been suspicious, but she was too tired, and she seemed safe enough. If this was a bad thing, she would have seen it coming, anyway.
