Personallity:
Amai is very sweet, but she is also very, very shy. She will hardly even talk to people she doesn't know well, unless briefly, and when she does, she talks so quiet, it is like a whisper. She can tend to not pay attention, a very bad habit that she is trying to fix, one that has gotten her in trouble a few times. She is very gentle, and preffers peace over fighting, but she will fight when needed. Amai is very courageous. Even though she wishes peace, she wouldn't hesitate to give her life is she was ever needed to do so. She is brave when it ocmes to decision like that, but not so brave when it comes to talking or meeting new people. Amai is also very wise, she will think things through before making any important decisions, and always has a word of advice for anyone who needs it. Although she is wise, ironically, she can be naive at times as well. Sometimes she falls for things because she is too trusting, and she doesn't like it. Although she tried very hard to think things thorugh, and chooses the right path a lot of the time, sometimes she heads down the vert wrong road. Amai has some things to work on, and habits to fix, but overall, she is happy with herself, and wouldn't change just to make someone happy.
History:
Amai grew up in the sand village. Her father was a ninja, and a good one, but wasn't greatly known, for he preferred to be a ninja for the sole purpose of the protection of his family. Amai's mother was gentle, and knew only healing jutsus. She was kind and wise, and she bore Amai two siblings, Moku, and older brother, and Amara, a younger sister. When Amai was 7, her sister was 3 1/2, and her brother was 9. Amai's father began training Moku to be a ninja, as well as Amai. Their father trained them hard, up till the end of his life when Amai was 9. Before her father died, Amai and Moku vowed to take care of Amara and their mother. Since her father's death, Amai trained harder, as well as her brother, and they trained well.
When Amai was 10 1/2, her mother became sick, but not anything fatal, so Moku went out to train, while Amai took care of their mother. In the evening, Moku didn't come home. Amai waited by the door all night, until morning, then checked on her mother before setting off to find him, and find him she did. He had bruises, cuts and there was blood surrounding his body. Amai fell to her knees and laid her head on his chest, praying for a heartbeat, but none came. She picked up her brother and found a place to burry him, out in the country where he had loved to train. Amai never found out what or who killed her brother, but she vowed if she did, she would have revenge.
After her brother's death, Amai trained harder than ever. She knew she was the sole remaining protector of her mother and her younger sister. Without Moku, she would have to do it alone.
When Amai reached the age of twelve she joined the academy, and studied to become a ninja. She is still in the process of studying and passing the academy.
Other:
She sometimes sings capriciously, even if people are aorund, but then stops almost immediately.
She has a bad habit of speaking things out-loud, that she meant only to think
She doesn't use contractions.
Role-Play Sample:
At My Best:
Mei got up long the sun rose, her eyes snapped open, and she stayed still as a smile crossed over her face. She got up slowly and tossed her legs over the bed, pulling covers back, and walked to her mother and sister. Their chests were rising and falling , indicating were still asleep. Mei looked fondly at them before getting up and walking over to her sister's bed. "I'll pass for you, Amara." she whispered. She caressed her sister's face ever so gently, and kissed her forehead tenderly, careful not to wake her. "And for you, mom." she said and gained a look of determination.
Mei stood by Amara's bedside for a moment before walking barefoot across the wood floor. She put on her normal outfit, and grabbed her blades from their shelf, high above, so that Amara couldn't get ahold of them. She packed any secondary weapons she needed and left the house, quietly shutting door behind her, and silently moving down the steps one by one. She looked back at door before giving a smile, and a nod of farewell, and headed down a trail at the eats side of the village, into the surrounding forest. She sighed as she walked, and a serious look took over her . She soon came to her brother's grave, the place where she had buried her brother years ago. She got down on her knees slowly, and ran her hand over the gravestone. It was smooth and makeshift, layed over the dirt, and engraved with a kunai, "Moku, a great brother, the protector." The stone was covered with dust, for she hadn't been back to the place since she found her borther lifeless on that fateful day. She took in a deep breath, and time seemed to stop as she ran her hand gently over every letter. "If you can here me, Moku..." she whispered, her had placed gently over the smoothed stone. "I will protect our family, and make you and father proud." she said. With that she stood up and walked a little ways down the trail before looking over her shoulder back at where her brother had so long rested. Her face grew soft, and her eyes held a far off glaze as she remembered what her brother had said a few hours before his death. They had been laying on a hill, enjoying the sunset on the horizon. "You see that Mei?" he had asked. "Yeah." she had answered. "What about it?" she asked looking to him. "It's a horizon, and it's right there, just waiting for us to follow it, to look forward and forget about the past. That's what dad would have wanted anyway, Mei." he said as a wise look washed over his face. "Just remember that. Always head to the horizon, don't let the past drag you down." he said and smiled. "Sometimes, you're gonna have to cry, things are going to have to be painful, and you'll go through some hard times. But you'll have to move on to get to the horizon. All kinds of things are going to try to bring you down, and you're going to miss some of those things you had to say goodbye to, it's sad Mei, but sometimes moving on with your life starts with goodbye, and after that, looking back just drags you down." After that he stood up and helped Mei up, and they walked hand in hand back to their house, before Moku dropped Mei off at the house and continued to train into the night.
Those moments were the last one's Mei had spent with her brother, and she would never forget them, but she would honor her brother and stop mourning the past so she could have a furture. Of course she would always hang onto those moments, and never forget him, but she swore at that moment, looking back at her borther's resting place, that she would always look forward. She gave a smile and the wind blew her night sky braids. "I'll remember you, Moku, but I will never look back..." she whispered. With that she continued down the path and didn't look back, and felt a new found confidence filling her heart to the brim as she walked.
*
Time had gone by quickly while she was there, memories taking up her time, and now there were but minutes until school started. She had planned to train before hand, but she had instead spent it with her brother, in a sense, and she didn't feel any regret. If anything would get her ready, it was memories of her brother, she was as trained as she would be, and a few hours of training wouldn't have made any difference. She walked slowly toward the academy, and looked around her, seeing other students in the distance, all headed to the same destination, and sharing the same dream, reaching for the same goal, to become a ninja.
Mei walked into the academy, and her footsteps echoed through the halls, and she could hear the voices of other students as she inched closer to the door of class. She opened it and took her seat, smiling as she looked out the window. It was a perfect day, the sun was shining and the air was just right, the morning had turned out wonderfully. 'No better day for a test.' she thought to herself. Soon things died down a bit, all the students awaiting the arrival of the sensai. Mei sat in her desk, watching and waiting, wondering how the rest of day would turn out. She wondered if she would leave today as a ninja or a failure.
At My Average
Mei listened intently to the instructions, taking in every detail and answereing the question he asked carefully in her mind. She uncrossed her arms and let them rest by her side, still thinking of a good strategy. She could go straight for yellow, but then it would be obvious that was her color, she could go for a different color, but that would bring her score down... 'Think Mei, this is your last chance for hte year...' she urged herself. She finally decided to just let the wind carry her, and she would take hte test one step at a time, moment by moment.
Mei fastened the flags as tight as she could onto her, and ran at one of the kids, attempting to steal his blue falg, while keeping an eye on the yellow, planning to take it after the kid was attmepting to defend his blue one.
I tend to usually be in-between those two, but sometimes, on VERY bad muse days, I do a few sentences less, but I always try and do my best. Note: Both of these are from the same RP, the same thread.
