The cold wintery breezes whipped at the sand, raking up small amounts of it. The water lapped against the shore, the moons reflected on the water, the stars shone above. All in all, a picturesque scene. Then why did she feel so out of whack?
Riyako removed the long sword from her back and sat down cross-legged on the sand. She breathed in and out with the pulse of the waves: in, out, in, out. She opened her eyes, the color of the ocean. She still felt oddly out of place. Riyako sat up straighter and focused her Chakra on the water, raising a tiny bit then letting it fall back into the water.

Akai walked down the beach. he was casually spinning a kunai around his left index finger. When he saw the girl sitting down, he tensed. he raised his eyebrow when he saw the bit of water, illuminated by the moonlight raise up. He shrugged and lazily moved over to a log nearby.
Under normal circumstances he would've asked the girl what she was doing but he was tired. He sighed and strecthed out on the log. He yawned and closed his eyes halfway. His head turned, eyes still half-closed. He watched the waves crash up on the beach then recede. back and forth, back and forth. The hypnotic motion made him even sleepier and he yawned again. Slowly his eyes closed and he fell asleep, the forgotton kunai falling to the golden sand below.

Riyako whipped around. A boy was walking behind her, aimlessly playing with a kunai. She watched as he tensed when he saw her. She turned back, but checked back again, now it seemed he was asleep. She shook her head and focused back on her meditation, the hypnotic beat of the waves on the shore almost lulling her to sleep.
How long had it been since she'd gotten a decent night's sleep?
Riyako stood up, deciding to practice her jutsus before going home. The young jounin began making signs, swaying to the beat of the ocean. Water began to rise, forming a long whip-like rope. She snapped the whip with a flick of her wrist. The resounding crack split the silence of the moonlit night.

Akai woke when he heard the whip crack. Almost faster then the eye could see he had picked up his kunai and was looking around. His eyes were narrowed into slits and he kept looking around. He relaxed when he saw that the girl had been the one to wake him up. He scowled and slowly sat back down, the kunai still held tight in his hand.[/size]

Riyako turned, glaring at the male. "Can I help you?" she asked angrily. She dropped the water back into the ocean and fully turned, placing her hands on her hip and tapping her foot impatiently. She waited for him to answer her. The wind picked up, blowing cold breezes towards them. The wind played with her long black hair.
((Not the most creative post, but hey, I'm sick, I'm tired, and I've just spent most of my day baking little cakes for our Lundi Gras party tomorrow, we don't have French class on Mardi Gras))
